Since we have returned to meet after the Covid Hiatus, we have not had any business meetings. However, as more members return and as we begin to have Workshops again, we see the need to once again have our monthly business meetings. As of June 4th, we will be meeting to discuss business at 1 PM on the 1st Tuesday of each month. If you want to be a part of planning events for TCPAA, please make that time available to attend the business meetings. Things we discuss: when to have workshops, what skills or subject matter and who we would like to invite to be the instructor; when and where we can have exhibitions; treasury matters, such as any donations we might like to make to charitable organizations, etc.
This is your organization and it is important that you have a forum to discuss how we function!!

ABOUT OUR GROUP |
TCPAA is a club, serving colored pencil artists since 1999. There are no dues. The group varies from 25-50 members. The group meets weekly on Tuesdays from 10 AM to 4 PM at the City of Tucson Sixth Ward Office at 3202 E. 1st Street (SE corner of 1st St and Anderson Blvd) to draw. TCPAA's bylaws, adopted on September 14th, 1999, dictate once monthly meetings, held the second Tuesday of the month, where majority vote decides issues concerning upcoming events.
TCPAA has a bi-monthly newsletter, mostly delivered via email.
The group lost it's domain name in 2017. This is a newly established website under the domain name of TCPAA.club.
There are officers, chosen at the April meeting. The officers organize twice yearly workshops and gallery exhibits, keep the accounts, do the group's banking and manage the membership list.

TCPAA Fall Workshop:
TCPAA's Fall Workshop was led by Becky Neideffer. We were quite fortunate to get Becky, since she is extremely busy; she teaches at various sites around Tucson including the Sonoran Desert Art Institute and is the Founder of the Tucson Pastel Society (of which is in the middle of a huge remodeling project that she is supervising). In addition, she finds time to do her own Pastel and Colored Pencil artwork and wins numerous awards.
Her workshop subject was Photography with a 23 page manual with enough information to overwhelm us for a few days! She explained that learning one's digital camera and cell phone is paramount for taking good reference photos. She showed us how to change settings to comply with art competition requirements, how to use photo software, formats for saving art photos and how to crop photos for competition entries. Other topics included: still-life set-ups, changing device settings to comply with competition requirements, image management, photo storage, entering shows, printing techniques, photo websites she uses and a plethora of wonderful insider tips on photography. The second day was strictly hands-on as she navigated us through Photoshop Elements and Snapseed. Whew! What a weekend! We even had two workshop participants who traveled all the way from California.
